FAQs

Yes! OFY’s July Intersession program is completely FREE for students. There is no tuition or fees of any kind.

Due to the brief nature of July Intersession, students are expected to work 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday, on their coursework. It generally takes 10 hours to complete a single unit/credit and 50 hours to complete one semester of a course (or 5 units/credits). However, some students may need more time than this in order to complete their workload.

It is each student’s responsibility to finish all assigned units within their July Intersession period. Each semester of a course consists of 5 units, and 5 credits will be awarded upon completion of the course. We will only award credit for units completed in their entirety. If a student does not complete all 5 units of a course they are taking, the teacher will grade and award credit for the units the student did complete, and the transcript will show partial credits.

We cannot allow a student to access their classes once their Fall semester begins, therefore they must complete and pass all of their coursework by the school day prior. For example, if a student’s school is ABC High, and it begins on Monday 7/31/23, the student must complete and pass all of their coursework by Friday 7/28/23. If this situation applies, the student must communicate with their teacher and discuss a plan to meet their deadline in advance.

Students must be 15 years of age to take our Driver Education course.

No dual-enrollment or concurrent enrollment is allowed. Students can only attend 1 program at a time. These programs cannot overlap and can only be taken consecutively.
